TRANSMISSION TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT - R&R

Responsibilities

This position assists master technicians in the removal and installation of performance, transmissions, performs service and maintenance for customers, maintains parts and inventory management, streamlines the workflow and contributes to the overall profitability of the business.

Job Description 

• Removal and reinstallation of performance diesel transmissions.

• Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection to service writers and technicians

• Provide regular updates and reports to supervisors on the status of ongoing projects and completed tasks.

• Performs routine services such as transmission fluid and filter changes, oil changes and other maintenance services offered by RedLine Transmissions 

• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems related to transmissions.

• Collaborate with team members to analyze diagnostic results and formulate effective repair strategies. 

• Maintain shop and keep working areas organized and clean.

• Inspect all received parts against the packing list for accuracy, organize and store them in their designated locations.

• Track customer parts for upcoming jobs/projects and maintain stock the organization of stock parts.

• Responsible for the organizing, picking and pulling parts for online orders

• Manage and fill parts sales and online orders in a timely fashion.

• Maintain detailed records of all transmission-related work performed, including diagnostic findings, repairs, and parts used.

• Work collaboratively with other mechanics and team members to achieve overall shop efficiency and productivity.

• Follow all safety protocols, guidelines to create a secure working environment.

• Ensure the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with regulations.

• Adhere to industry standards and company policies to ensure the highest quality of workmanship.

• Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools and repair techniques.

• Attend all company meetings and any off-site events.

• Uphold the company values at the highest standard.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Technician Qualifications/Skills:

• Proficiency in the use of common mechanic shop tools.

• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Ability to bend, move, lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and physically perform duties in the scope of this position.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Exceptional organization skills, ability to multi-task and excellent time management skills

• Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment

• Passion for diesel trucks 

• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment

• Valid driver's license

• Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check, DMV screen, and drug screen

Education, Experience, and Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    Stable work history
    Must provide own basic tools
    Minimum 2 year of industry experience but will train the right candidate
    Familiarity with diesel trucks, transmissions and performance parts a plus
